ANALOGUE AND DIGITAL EVENTS

We aspire to create an innovative podium that brings the folk music scene together and helps to establish interdisciplinary relationships, promote artistic experimental spaces and inspire a dialogue between anyone interested.

We believe that this form of creative exchange can provide new opportunities for thinking and making. We believe that our participatory design approach can support the integration of traditions into new ideas and expressions. Cultural heritage is not fixed, but colorful, alive and constantly evolving. Our focus lies on its enjoyment, transformation and sustainable usability.

We therefore plan to establish real-life and in-person events in combination with digital events such as varying workshop formats, learning and exchange platforms and a digital archive. We would also like to develop and implement lecture evenings, discussion panels, concerts as well as DFM’s centerpiece, an annual festival.

FOLKLORE WALK

The FOLKLORE WALK is a curated audiovisual walk featuring various local presentations to celebrate grown traditions of immaterial cultural heritage and to short-circuit them with new contemporary impulses.

The FOLKLORE WALK aims to give new impulses to traditional forms of amateur music. It offers experimental art forms and their artists a platform and room to showcase their traditional amateur music.

This intervention will be curated in collaboration with regional musicians representing their local traditions, under the direction of yodelling ambassador Doreen Kutzke, whose aim is to develop new ways of rediscovering and performing these traditions.
